I’m trying super hard lately to be a really positive person about Mondays. I feel like I always dread Monday and am super negative about it; like “ugh another Monday”. Now I’m trying to be like “OK Monday let’s do this so I can get to Friday.” This goes against everything about my inner April Ludgate. Anyway I’m genuinely excited about this week so it’s easy to not hate Monday today. I have lots to get done and lots of plans this week. So that should definitely not be a recipe for disaster. Getting into a morning workout routine has definitely given me more time in the week to get stuff done and to make plans with friends.
I’m hoping this week has some real Fall weather. I just got this navy wool cape and have been dying to wear it. It feels like we’ve been teased with a few days of Fall weather here and there and then it goes back to 80. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Summer girl so it’s cool, but I’ve got a lot of Fall clothes to wear and I’d like to get to it already. I’m basically obsessed with capes this Fall, but I’ve always wanted a good wool one. I found this one while it was on sale and knew it was meant to be. It’s super comfy and totally worth it if you’re in the market for a new wool coat or cape this Fall. It’s also been ages since I had a cute toggle coat so this cape really hit two major points on my Fall coat wish list.
Now there are two very different opinions on white jeans after Labor Day. I am decidedly in the ‘go for it’ corner. I love wearing white jeans in the Fall and Winter, especially with a cream sweater or a camel coat. Navy and white is a big staple for me in the summer so why not bring it into Fall too. I knew this cape would be perfect with my white jeans the minute I saw it. I capped this off with my favorite red flats which I got at Old Navy over the summer for $6. I linked a few similar pairs below which are not as much of a steal, but Old Navy does have these in a few colors online and in store right now, just not red. I also just found a pair of camel booties I completely forgot I bought last year. They’re Tory Burch and I got them for a major steal at Nordstrom Rack for like $50. They’re really similar to this pair in coffee. It’s always worth it to check in there randomly. I love a camel bootie with white jeans and a camel coat, such a chic look for Fall.
