I can already tell Fall is going to be super busy for me because there are at least 10 books coming out soon that I’m already dying to read. I’m currently in the middle of 3 books right now. I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to finish anything. I’ve got to finish what I’m currently reading so I can jump into all the awesome new books I’ve already pre-ordered.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t relate to Mindy Kaling. She’s the kind of celebrity who could actually be your best friend. Her first book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? is one of my favorite books. Mindy’s storytelling feels like chatting with your best friend over brunch.
Set in WWII, the book follows the story of two separate characters, Marie-Laure and Werner. The two lead very different lives growing up and both end up in a small French town. The book follows their lives growing up separately and once their stories converge later in life.
This book is a Pulitzer Prize winner and has been at the top of every bestseller list. I’ve gotten so many recommendations to read this book that I’ve finally picked up a copy. I’m so excited to dive into this book, I have a feeling I won’t be putting it down all weekend.
Momofuku Milk Bar is one of the best dessert shops in New York. Seriously, they have cereal milk ice cream. Well, this cookbook has all the recipes from Milk for you to recreate at home. I recently picked this up and have been dying for some free time to make something out of this. Really I just can’t wait for that cereal milk ice cream.
The Martian is about to be released in theaters with Matt Damon as the main character, Mark. The story is about a group of astronauts who travel to Mars and have to evacuate leaving Mark behind, thinking he’s dead. He has to find a way to survive on Mars using his ingenuity and what little supplies he has left. The book is fast paced and is told from Mark’s perspective of his log entries while on Mars. Fun fact, I love space. I’ve been to NASA so many times I couldn’t count them and is probably 10% of why I lived in Houston. I definitely recommend reading this book before you go see it in theaters. Like basically every movie ever, the book is so good and you’ll probably love it more.
