Since it’s already February, I know I can’t believe it either, it’s time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re spending it with your boyfriend or husband or if you are single and ignoring it and celebrating Galentine’s Day instead, I wanted to share my favorite makeup to give you the perfect romantic look.
A good base for your romantic makeup look is a good BB cream. BB cream is going to be less coverage than a foundation, but will give you a dewy look because it is so moisturizing. I don’t usually stray too far from my foundation, but tried this Lancôme BB cream and loved it. If you feel like it isn’t enough coverage for you, wear it with a touch of foundation to give you just a bit more coverage.
One of the most popular eye shadows is Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. It’s great because the variety of color works well for many different looks, but doesn’t stray too far from your everyday look. This basics palette is perfect if you don’t want to commit to the larger, more expensive full size palette. The variety of colors lets you do a smokey eye as well as something more subtle and natural.
Diorshow mascara is one of the best mascaras for long, full lashes. It doesn’t leave you with the hard feeling some mascaras have, but gives you soft, natural feeling and looking lashes. This is the perfect mascara for your romantic makeup palette.
For a great romantic look, I always suggest going with a blush in a light pink. I don’t wear a ton of blush, so I usually pick a bright pink and just do a little blush and some highlighter. I love this Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette because it has blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one. My favorite color combination for my pale skin and blue eyes is the ‘Native’ palette, it works great for a date night look.
My favorite lipstick of the moment and the perfect way to finish this romantic date night look is Tom Ford ‘Lips & Boys’ lipstick. So many colors to choose from, but for this look I like to go with a nude or very light pink. The top two shades to achieve this look for me were ‘Luca’ and ‘Rory’. I really prefer a light pink acting as my nude lip color, because it’s usually not so bright, but still gives a little added hint of color.
Let me know what some of your favorite date night makeup must-haves are, because you know I love to try any and every piece of makeup.
