I get a lot of questions about the hair products I use. I have pretty thick hair and it’s somewhat between wavy and straight, so it takes some taming. So I thought I’d share some of my favorite at-home blowout products.
First things first, you will want to start with a good hair dryer and brush. I strongly suggest getting a lightweight hair dryer. Doing a full blowout at home can take some time, so unless you are Wonder Woman, your arm is probably going to get tired.
You are also going to need a good round brush. I go for a medium size brush. The smaller the brush, the more curl you will get. You can use a really big round brush if you want a straighter blowout.
The first product I use is this Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle spray. It’s a great detangler and probably does some other great stuff, but it smells so amazing. I can’t even explain to you how good it smells, just get it and try it for yourself.
Next I use this L’oreal Professional Texture Expert Mousse. I like this one because you spray it directly on your hair instead of your hands. It gives great volume and lift, but doesn’t leave hair greasy, which can be a big problem for girls with oily hair, like me.
Another L’Oreal Professional product I love to use is their Sealing Repair Serum. It works to repair split ends and seals in moisture so they don’t dry out. It’s a must-have if you have colored hair, especially highlights.
You’re probably thinking this all sounds great, but the biggest hair issue we face is frizz. This frizz tamer by KMS California is definitely the answer to your troubles. I have been using this for a while and weather just doesn’t matter anymore because this taming creme keeps your hair under control. It doesn’t weigh hair down either. Just put about a nickel size dollop on your palms and smooth it over your hair starting towards to middle of strands, avoid the roots.
Once I finish blow drying my hair, I like to finish with this Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Serum. It just smooths down any stray hairs and leaves ends looking really soft and shiny. Bonus, it also smells amazing. It’s a bit of a splurge, but it takes just 2 pumps to do all of my hair and I have really long, thick hair.
These are just some of my favorite hair products and I use them on a daily basis. What are some of your must-have, ‘can’t live without’ favorite hair products?
