I realize I haven’t shared a lot of work looks lately which is weird because 85% of my wardrobe is workwear. I was ridiculously excited when Banana Republic asked me to be a part of their Summer campaign because almost every single piece of my work wardrobe is Banana Republic. Their clothes fit me like a dream without much alteration and they are easy to care for, i.e. I don’t have to dry clean every single thing.

One of my favorite patterns currently at BR is this magnolia print skirt. It also comes in a dress, top, and pants. I’m also obsessed with this check patterned dress. It is fitted without being tight or constricting on your ribs. These dresses are my go-to for work. If you travel for work much, I definitely recommend anything in this material because it doesn’t really wrinkle. I lived for these Sloane pants when I traveled full time because I didn’t have to risk it with a hotel room iron.

One thing I definitely struggle with in the summer is finding workwear that’s appropriate for my conservative office. I’m a fashion girl and while I think a lot of men really rock the hell out of their suits, women’s suits just don’t hold the same appeal for me. I love to find different ways to dress business professional while still being able to incorporate my own style that’s more than a black suit. I pretty rarely wear a full suit to work, I mostly wear dresses and skirts. This is partly because I like to switch between flats and heels a lot and also because some days my desk feels like the Sahara. I’ve also been known to partake in Taco Tuesday for lunch sometimes and it’s weirdly inappropriate to unbutton your suit pants at your desk. Honestly, as a society I think we all get that one so let’s just make it a thing.

The one thing I love and hate most in this world is Spanx. I love them because I think they make me look amazing and two sizes smaller, but also hate them because I can’t breath, eat or drink much, and they roll down all the time. I love that with Banana Republic dresses, I don’t ever need Spanx. This is partly because they use a thicker, stretchier material so the dresses are universally flattering without any added undergarments. I’d say this is probably why I’ve been so loyal to Banana Republic for my workwear.

Thanks to Banana Republic for sponsoring this post. A big reason why I started this blog was to share with you my favorite clothes, brands, tips, etc. Posts like this where I get the opportunity work with my all-time favorite brands and share that with you is kind of a dream realized. I don’t want to get all sappy about it, but blogging is a lot of work and a lot of nights and weekends and life given up to build A Study in Chic and make it amazing for you. Getting these opportunities and working with brands is so fun for me and I hope it’s just as fun for you. Without my loyal readers I couldn’t do any of this, so thank you for following along on this exciting adventure!
