What a crazy summer this has been! I feel like July just flew by and I am not prepared for summer to be over so soon. I’ve been taking some time off from creating new content for the blog this summer. Between moving, studying for an exam for work, and trying to keep my sanity I just needed a break. It was so very needed and I’m feeling more creative than ever!

I also spent this summer focusing my time and energy on relationships. I’ve been trying to prioritize spending time with friends and family lately. Which also means I get to eat a lot of food. So you know, that’s sort of a win/win for me.

A few weeks ago I met up with my girl Gwen Ginger for a little brunch and catch up date. We met up at Fiddlehead Fern Cafe which is one of my favorite spots in St. Louis. We talked all things blogs and planned a little upcoming trip over granola and yogurt bowls and iced coffees. You know when you meet someone and you know immediately that you just get each other? That’s how Gwen and I met. We first met on the Internet like you do all your friends/dates/doctors now. And then we became real life friends when we finally met at a blogger event. I knew we’d be friends for a long time when we thought all the same things were weird.

Fiddlehead Fern is the perfect spot to meet up for a coffee date or grab a croissant on the run. My favorite thing to get is the apple and brie toast. I think I would eat almost anything with apples and brie on it, but this toast is so so so good. You know my love of vintage dishes and the adorable, delicate china at Fiddlehead Fern is maybe half the reason I love it. I always get a cold brew or vanilla latte when I stop in, but have heard great things about the lavender rose latte. If you haven’t been yet you have to make it an end of summer goal!

What other brunch or coffee spots should I try this summer? Leave them in the comments!
