After a week of being in the Arizona heat, I’m pretty happy to be back in St. Louis. I will take this heat and humidity over 105 degrees and monsoons any day. I’m also excited for a low-key week ahead with nothing major going on and plenty of time to binge watch Stranger Things and snuggle with Chuck. I’m also in the midst of some redecorating in my apartment, which I mentioned a few weeks ago. So I’m ready to get back to it and buy the last few things I need, like a new coffee table and living room chair. I finally feel like I have time to focus on picking them out.
I’ve also had a few successful weeks of shopping lately. With the Nordstrom anniversary sale, I snagged a few staple pieces for cheap. And Banana Republic has been having a big sale lately. I picked up this navy blazer at half the sale price in store. I had wanted it when it came out earlier in the summer, but honestly refused to pay full price for it because I’m cheap. So it was meant to be when I found it for like 70% off the original price. I’m a huge fan of the nautical look and this navy blazer and white shorts combo is my summer go-to.
I also have a major love-hate relationship with shorts. I rarely wear them because I hate my thighs like every other woman ever. I actually love these white denim shorts because they are stretchy and pretty comfy to wear. They also make it easy to transition fall pieces like my navy blazer into my summer wardrobe. I’m definitely the person who can’t wait to wear my new fall clothes, so I have to start wearing them in August. This little leather bag is also a great transition piece. I picked it up early in the summer and have used it tons. It’s a great look alike for the Gucci diva bag, but only like $20 which I am much more on board with budget-wise. August is the best time of year to find great deals on these transition pieces as stores get ready for fall, so this is the month to get out there and shop!
