Sweater weather is finally here! I recently went through and did the Marie Kondo method on my closet, but honestly did nothing with my Fall/Winter clothes because it was still so warm out. So now I need to tackle the mountain of sweaters I’ve accumulated. And when I say mountain that’s not an exaggeration. I have at least 60 sweaters stacked up in my closet. I’ve got to get this under control before it gets too cold out and I refuse to leave my couch and fur blanket.
I blame my problem on the fact that last year Banana Republic had every sweater that’s ever been made for my body type. I used to hate wearing sweaters because I thought they looked terrible on me. They either made my arms look huge or my boobs looked huge or I felt like I was wearing shoulder pads with how big my shoulders felt or they were too short. I think these are pretty universal sweater shopping problems. I always look for longer sweaters and lighter weight sweaters. This pretty much takes care of all the issues I always have with sweater fits. Most brands have definitely moved towards a longer, looser fit in sweaters which is much more flattering for pretty much every shape.
I love a big turtleneck or a cowl neck sweater. I always feel like tight turtlenecks make me look like an actual turtle so I like the look of a looser turtleneck. I picked up this sweater a few weeks ago and can’t wait for it to be cool enough to wear. It’s super soft and loose. I bought a medium for a loose, cozy fit so I recommend sizing up. I’m also a huge fan of this open back sweater. It’s a little lighter material and perfect for that transitional time right now, especially if you live in the south where it won’t be cold for a while if at all.
Does anyone else struggle finding sweaters that work? There are so many good options right now. Since I already have one million sweaters I’m trying to limit myself on buying any this year. I’ve only been looking for really good deals. All my favorite picks for sweaters under $100 are rounded up for you below.
