Clean Beauty Favorite: Indie Lee

eco-friendly skincare

Over the past few years, I’ve been putting more time and energy into my skincare routine. It’s actually become one of my favorite luxuries. I’ve tried loads of products, masks, scrubs, you name it, all in the journey of figuring out what works for my skin.

I feel like things really started to change for me about a year ago when I got my first facial. I know, how could I wait so long to get a facial? I don’t really know. I’ve just always been weird about getting things done and the cost and what if my skin is ruined. A lot of anxiety over someone literally just washing your face.

My hair stylist recommended I try out Skin Spa Facial Bar because she loved the products they use. Skin Spa specializes in organic, eco-friendly skincare products which I was excited about. A big part of finding my skincare routine was finding products that weren’t full of “stuff” and maybe do a little less damage to Earth. I didn’t want tons of chemicals or added things. I wanted real products that would be gentle on my sensitive, oily skin without drying it out.

One of the product lines I found at Skin Spa was Indie Lee. I was drawn to it at first because of the product branding. It was so cute and there were so many products to play with while I was waiting for my appointment. So when coincidentally just a few days later I got an e-mail from Indie asking if I wanted to try a few products I was SCREAMING. The universe knew I was meant to try these products.

I not only was dying over the product branding and all the different products available, I was so drawn in by Indie’s story. You should go read/watch it here. All of her products use natural ingredients and are eco-friendly.

I tried out the brightening facial cleanser, vanilla citrus moisturizing oil, and blemish lotion. I feel like I have to talk about the blemish lotion first and foremost. When things are really stressful, I always break out. I’ve tried lots of different spot treatments and this is by far my favorite and most effective. There are a couple of similar options out there that people swear by, but this is all real ingredients.

I’ve also been using the cleanser morning and night for about 6 weeks now and can see a huge difference in my skin. I’ve noticed my skin is much less oily throughout the day. I really noticed the difference when one day I washed my face with my old face wash and noticed my skin was shiny by mid-morning. I also can’t get over how good the brightening cleanser smells. I’m a huge apple person and it has just the barest hint of apple scent. So good.

The line recently launched at Nordstrom which is so huge! I’m excited to try out lots of the other products like the blemish stick and clearing mask.

Have you guys tried any of Indie Lee’s products? Any other eco-friendly skincare brands you love that we all need to know about? Share them in the comments!
